BIFIPRO®

This is the management website of the BIFIPRO® system. The BIFIPRO® is an advanced, effective Legionella control system that has proven effective in eliminating Legionella with over 120 customers, in areas of healthcare, elderly care, hotels, prison institutes, swimming pools and spa's as well as cooling towers for a variety of buildings and industrial applications. The BIFIPRO® system uses copper and silver-ionisation to eliminate biofilm and harmful bacteria from drinking water systems and cooling towers. To learn more about our BIFIPRO® product, please visit our website.

The BIFIPRO® system is used in conjunction with an automated remote monitoring system, and a well organised maintenance regime to ensure trouble-free and infection free operation with our customers.

Monitoring

Our automated monitoring system collects a range of data from our very precise equipment. We collect water flows, peak flows, amount of copper and silver dosed, and a variety of other operating parameters. We alert if we've been unable to contact the machine, establish communication, found erroneous values or indeed run out of electrode materials.

Customer login

Customers can also log-in on this system if they subscribe to this additional service. They can monitor their water consumption, the operation of the BIFIPRO® systems they own at all their locations, all using a very simple to use web-based front end.

User-friendly graphs

We show complex technical data in easy to understand, clear, graphical data that is generated instantaneously, allowing you to monitor your location in a glance.

Material usage

The effectiveness of removal of biofilm and harmful bacteria such as legionella is related to the accurate dosage of copper- and silver-ions. Dosage is determined by the amount of water flow, but also by other factors: the scale build-up on the electrodes, the strength of water flow (the peak-flow), the water hardness, the acidity, the temperature, and the electrode depletion. Accurately monitoring the amounts of copper and silver dosed is essential. Again, we provide such information in an easy to see, graphical form.

Customer legionella reports

Customers can define themselves at which points samples must be taken. This is done via a simple data entry form. When samples have been defined, the customer can enter the analysis results for the location, once he receives them from the laboratory.

Entering analysis results

The data entry form for entering analysis results is much easier to use than a spreadsheet. Just copy the data from your report, and a permanent history is built for your files.

Tabular listing

The analysis results are shown as a table (and each column can be selected to be modified, in case mistakes are spotted). The table is shown with the latest, most relevant samples and analysis at the left. Values outside the norm are shown in red.

Because historical numbers are shown in order, it is easy to spot trends. Which tap is proving problematic? Are the copper-silver values high enough? Is there enough water flow?

We have seen and spotted many inconsistent results using this format, and know that a lot of samples are taken incorrectly. We inform customers to pay particular attention to the correct taking of samples (flush water for one minute, then take a sample and measure the temperature). Samples for Copper and Silver should be added to a lightproof bottle with some acid added to preserve the metals.

Analysis graphs

And finally the most useful graphs... tjose showing the progress made in clearing up legionella and colonies. These smoothed graphs use an average of all data points, and clearly show if you are making progress or not. The orange area is outside of the norm, and the white area is fine. You can see in the attached graph how a typical location has been cleaned up.

After installation the biofilm loosens from the drinkingwater pipes and high quantities of legionella are spotted. After about 6 months they drop to around 100 kve. A spike in total bacterial colonies can still occur, but the total values are showing progress and control.
